Curving Roads & Ruins & a White Dress
Yesterday was insanely busy for both of us, as yesterday we had our ceremony here in Ireland!!! Saturday was definitely very special at home, but yesterday was really something to remember. It was so beautiful where it happened and all the people were so so so nice, too. Our pictures are going to be glorious and so is our wedding video! (:
We started the day in the Nuremore Hotel which is in County Monaghan (that's something about Ireland. Everything goes by City, County, Ireland. And that's how they refer to it, too.) And had to travel all the way to the opposite coast (west coast) in order to get to the place that we were meeting all the wedding people. In case you didn't know, the roads over here are super winding and super curvy and super narrow. So naturally, we've had a lot of fun driving on them. :D but it does still take FOREVER to get anywhere because of that. We only went about 100 miles probably but it took us 3 hours to get there.
It was entirely worth it, though, as the place we ended up was STUNNING. Something you don't see at home. It was called The Burren, in the location where the famous Cliffs of Moher are at and also where we happened to have our wedding ceremony. It was in a beautiful, 12th century monastery in complete ruins. We couldn't have asked for a better location.
Afterwards, the videographer took us all around the area, about 20 KM altogether, and videoed us in different places. A beach, a lighthouse, and a pier. It was so beautiful and such an experience!
After we finished with all of them, around 8:00PM, James and I were STARVING, so we went to the next town over (Doolin) and ate at a restaurant recommended by the videographer which was DELICIOUS. Since we were in our complete wedding garb we got a lot of stares (and some scattered applause :)) and a free dessert which was AMAZINGGGGG.
Because it took forever to get to the coast, and we had to drive nearly the same distance back, we had to leave after supper. The next destination was Kilronan Castle in Ballyfarnon, Co. Roscommon, Ireland, which turned out to be incredibly worth the insanely long drive to get here.
Currently, I am writing in the room at 9:47PM over here. Today, James and I slept in quite late catching up on some much needed Zzz's and then traveled over to Carrick-on-Shannon, a town closeby, where we ate a late lunch and walked around, then sat by the water.
Altogether it has been a very long couple days and we are quite glad to have a day like today to just relax and enjoy each other. :)
Hope all is well at home!
PS: SO glad Lana is okay!!! And that Polly and At-Attack are having some kind of great time! Thanks a bunch for watching them! Love y'all!!!
