Anddddd we made it -FINALLY.

Writing to all you folks tonight from our hotel room in IRELAND! Wow, it feels so good to say that we are finally here. It seemed to take forever, but all in good timing, I suppose.

More than anything, both of us can say that we have been EXHAUSTED today. We actually took almost a 5 hour nap whenever we made it to the hotel room! But we did explore first, because, I mean, we ARE in another country. In Europe!

It's super exciting and very green and beautiful over here. Our hotel is more lovely than we could have imagined and the restaurant served up some delicious food for dinner. We really couldn't have asked for a better first supper on our Honeymoon (I mean the last two nights' dinners don't count, right? ;))

Pork entree!

Steak entree!

So here's today's brief breakdown so we can get some more seriously necessary sleep <3

So after we finally landed (around 7:45AM Irish time) we picked up the rental car at the airport. Lemme tell ya, James LOVED that little thing. Driving it around like a maniac, hahaha, but it was so cool and driving on the opposite side of the road comes a heck of a lot more naturally than you might think, too!!! Well...he had a great time...until we needed to turn around. And neither one of us could figure out how to get the silly thing in reverse. He ended up pushing it backwards in the middle of this tiny little country road! LOL! And then I looked up in the car manual that you have to push directly down on the gear shift in order to put it in reverse. Can't say I've ever heard of that before. (I felt like Wendy Bagwell in his Volkswagen, Dad!) But we finalllyyy figured it out. And finally found the visitor's center to Bru na Boinne National Park.

"What the heck is that, you ask? How on earth do you even say that, you ask?" Well, good thing ya got us to tell you!
1: It's an ancient Mound burial site, similar to what's in the US
2: Brew nah Boyne

It was very very cool, and exceptionally beautiful there. I don't really know what else to tell you other than that, though. During the Neolithic Age, ancient peoples in this region spent years building what we assume to be burial plots. These mounds were used throughout various civilizations for different things, but have now been excavated and turned into a beautiful park. We visited Knowth, but Rick Steves suggests Newgrange. Sorry pal, we were tired.

Largest mound in Western Europe; took 40 years to excavate

After seeing those, we ate lunch in the little cafe in the visitor's center, then took off another 20-30 miles to find our sweet little hotel, located on a golf course. Nuremore Hotel and Country Club is its name and sleeping is about to be our game.

We love y'all and will fill you in on our big day tomorrow! (:
