An Irish Honeymoon

This time blogging will be a bit different from all the other times I've posted...because this time I'M MARRIED!!! :) <3 and on my honeymoon! James and I had a wonderful wedding, filled with family and friends and food and fun, and now we are off to enjoy our first week as a newly wed couple. It is already wonderful...although our travel plans have become just a BIT off kilter.

We left the reception later than expected and headed out to Nashville...where we CRASHED as soon as we could -in the hotel room! (Hahaha, btw brother, those cans you tied to the back of the car had to come off. We were driving down the interstate and started hearing this TERRIBLE noise and it was the cans hitting the back of Roxy! So you got your moment of glory, lol).

Anyways, we woke up too early (BLEH.) and made our bleary-eyed way to Raleigh Anne's house (to discover a tree had fallen through Geoff's windshield!!! Sorry dude, that SUCKS.) And meet Polly's sister, Poons, that they adopted at the wedding. Who knew that we'd leave with pretty new rings on our fingers and Rals and Geoff would leave with a puppy! Sounds like we ALL won that night (:

Anywho, Raleigh graciously drove me and James to the airport, where all was smooth and well and we caught our flight on time, even sat together, and made it to our first layover spot in Raleigh, NC. (appropriate, right???) And made it on to Chicago - Midway International Airport. That's where the fun began.

Alllllllll the websites said that there was a shuttle bus that goes from Midway to O'Hare Airports....this is NOT.TRUE.AT.ALL. I don't really know who they were talking about but that wasn't the case for us! We ended up paying too much to get a taxi (with a driver from Jordan)  over to O'Hare and then, after we got there, we discovered something more than unexpected - OUR FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED!

They did comp us a room though, and free food, and then also transportation to the hotel (which was a complete joke). So it worked out. And we needed more rest because the most memorable part about yesterday was how TIRED we both were! Those wedding bells just wore us out.

But here we are, sitting in the hotel room waiting for the shuttle to take us to the airport so we can *fingers crossed* catch our proper flight tonight, at 5:45PM Central time and FLY AWAYYYYY!!!

PS: we also met a very nice, very talkative Irish man last night that we had dinner with. Rick Steves was right about one thing - Irish people CERTAINLY have the gift of gab!!! ;)

Love to all!
Kellie & James
